PPS: I was afraid it would be only tweens but I've found some great sources that aren't teeny-boppy but articulate and genuine. I'm such a noob poser in comparison.

While watching Race to Witch Mountain (ijudgemyself,kthnxbye), the trailer came up for 17 Again. I thought it was cute and didn't really know much about the actor (for realz) but it released on my (24th birthday and was like, fuck yeah I'll go see that. Reno 911? Friends? Knocked up? I'm there. Plus, that main dude's pretty hawt.

Gen. AU. Dark. Jinchuuriki-centric.
Warning: Blood, gore, high angst.
When Suna attacks, Naruto and Gaara must abandon Konoha, find the other jinchuuriki, and unlock the secrets of the Village of Shadows, or all is lost. But it is only six years later, when Konoha comes demanding help, that the last Great War begins. I really, really enjoy this fic but not to the point of a ♥ yet. The beginning is a bit shaky in terms of characterization but I grew to love all the jinchuuriki. Absolutely adore all of them.

Gen. Au. Time-travel. Naru-centric.
In a war torn future, in the burning ruins of Konohagakure, Naruto fights Orochimaru and loses as the world collapses around him. From that ending comes a new beginning and a new chance to set things right, if only he can figure out how.... I honestly didn't think I would love it as much as I grew to. There were definitely some iffy points but I thought KyLewin did a great job incorporating new plot twists and storylines instead of just reworking Kishimoto's.
Sequel: Here and Now WIP

Naruto has gone back in time from a war ravaged future and has a chance to set things right, but despite his efforts things seem to be worse rather than better. Akatsuki, Orochimaru, Danzo... some jinchuriki have no luck at all. Picks up where Time and Again drops off. It's a bit heart-wrenching at times and wonderfully original.

Time-travel.
Naruto goes back to the past but as expected botches it. He finds himself in another reality, where he's a she and a year younger than Itachi. Not only that but Naruto's also Sasuke's new mother figure! An incredibly guilty pleasure. Don't judge!

What a way to kick off a career. From high school student to major motion picture lead, 17 year-old Nikki Blonsky's star turn as Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray, (the film version of the Broadway musical), deserves all the accolades the film has been garnering. In telling the tale of this plus-sized teenager's love for dancing – especially with her friends from the other side of the tracks, Baltimore's Negro community – audiences are entreated a mythical version of the real fight to integrate an actual TV show that was broadcast in that city during the racially charged '60s.

By matching Nikki up with the burgeoning teen heart-throb Zac Efron (of High School Musical fame) the film director, Adam Shankman, and producers (who accrued a surprise hit with Chicago) scored an additional coup for this caffeine-paced, faux-period musical – a sometimes-worthy successor to both the Broadway show and the original film that inspired them both, John Water's Hairspray.
